Traumatized Ukraine Dog Finally Finds Family Who Loves Her Unconditionally

Your donations are helping feed hungry shelter pets in Ukraine, like Iva, and giving them the nutrition they need to heal and go on to find loving homes.
Iva was rescued after the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station which left many people and animals fighting for their lives. Volunteers rushed to save many from drowning, including Iva.

She was brought to Patron Pet Center where she was treated and started to heal from her physical and emotional wounds.
Once she was rehabilitated, she was put up for adoption and caught the eye of a family in Berlin. What was supposed to be her happy ending turned into another traumatic experience.

The shelter told us, “Unfortunately, the stress of moving negatively affected Iva’s condition and she began to withdraw into herself, protect herself from others and react violently to people passing by. The family abandoned Iva and this was an even greater blow to the dog.”
Iva was once again alone and afraid. The shelter continued their search for a perfect home and finally found a couple who met Iva and instantly fell in love.

They adopted her and shared that she is thriving in her new home and even enjoys going to dog school.

Iva finally got her happily ever after. However, there are thousands more waiting for a home at shelters and rescues across Ukraine.
